During a luncheon at the the Barrie Rotary Club on April 20th, 2017, the Charlie Wilson Environmental Award was presented to Maple Leaves Forever’s founder Ken Jewett.
The Award is presented annually to a person or organization recognizing their contribution to the environment.
Charlie Wilson was a very active member of the Barrie Rotary Club. More than 500 trees were planted within Barrie under his guidance.
Ken and Maple Leaves Forever were honoured to be the 2017 recipients of the Award.
Ken thanked the Rotary President Gary Kopp, and event organizers Jack Burke and Marta Ross for the award and the Rotary Club’s generosity.
